Weiss, Karl

He is a creative photographer and visual consultant. He is firmly established as one of east London's well-known social documentary photographers. He specializes in documenting change - varying from the inner city in London to rural scenes in Eastern Europe.

He studied at Whitechapel Art Gallery in 1955-1959 and in Brighton College of Education in 1965-68. Between 1979-91 he worked for the Novosti Press Agency. In 1989 he received a Certificate in Photography at the City & Guilds of London Institute. Since 1990 he has been a member of the Royal Photographic Society

and a visiting lecturer at Redbridge College. In 1992 he was an international guest photographer at Hungarian Social Documentary Photographers' School; presented guest lectures in Germany, Hungary and Russia.

In 1996-1997 he was an international Guest Photographer at Hungarian Fine Artists' Summer School. Between 1998-2000 he presented three summer workshop in Hungary.
